HK$242.49 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$42.91 billion, or 17.69% of the
market's turnover. There were 673 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$10.71 billion and HK$6.12
billion, or 24.97% and 14.26% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 50.4% and 55.3% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$3.03 billion and HK$1.9 billion of
short sales, accounting for 7.06% and 4.43% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 18.65% and 13.86% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.38, or 1.78%, to HK$21.72. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$1.54, or
1.93%, to HK$81.26. BABA-W rose HK$5.5, or 5.5% to HK$105.5. TENCENT jumped HK$8.8, or
2.06%, to HK$437.
